Blue-collar or white? A blue-collar worker is a tradesman. Lots of blue collar workers own homes, run businesses, and have families. They love working with their hands and not in offices. How many people are sitting behind a desk right now, feeling unhappy and wishing they could be working with their hands, doing something physical instead? A blue-collar job isn't always a dirty job. There are factory workers who have the technical know-how that many people in white-collar jobs do not. They need this know-how in order to operate equipment worth more than the average house. It's about time we showed respect for these people for their know-how and the work they do. People who can produce or fix things often have the greatest job security. The work is done with human hands and no machine can or will replace that. To get ahead on the job depends on the desire to learn and blue-collar workers have enough opportunities to learn - on the job.
