In Effort Models of Consecutive Interpreting, there are two stages. In stage one: CI=L (listening) + N (note-taking) + M(memory) + C(Coordination); in stage two: CI=Rem (remembering)+Read (note reading) + P (production). Memory storage refers to M in the first stage, while memory retrieval means Rem is the second stage.
