Conflict is an unavoidable, normal part of life. Even teasing and joking are disguised forms of conflict. All our sports and games are conflict situations whether we are playing or simply being ‘couch potatoes’.

To avoid conflict becoming an issue in team work we need to develop a climate of co-operation and achievement of mutual goals.
C.
We need to be good listeners, be prepared to share information and regard the other party as reasonable. When trust is present, the prospects of agreement are great. When one problem solver meets another then often the problem is speedily resolved with both sides satisfied.
D.
Creating goals, objectives, mission statements and charters helps people in moderate conflict to focus on what they want. Too much conflict distracts from the objectives, becomes uncontrolled and takes off into wider issues with old antagonisms from the past being dragged in.
