Translation: Crohn disease is an inflammation in the mucosal lining of the intestine (usually small intestine) and may result in ulcers and destruction of the intestinal lining or total obstruction. Symptoms may include cramping, diarrhea, melena (bloody stools), anorexia, weight loss, and fatigue. In severe cases, sections of the GI tract are removed, and a stoma (an opening) is created on the surface of the abdomen to accommodate waste elimination.
