These three branches are the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial(行政、立法和司法).The Executive branch is headed up by the President, currently Barrack Obama. The role of the Executive branch is to carry out and enforce the law, as well as to act as the commander and chief of the US military. The Legislative branch is made up of two houses: the House of Representatives and Congress. Their job is to create new laws and they are the only ones with the power to declare war. The final branch, the Judicial, is made up of the Supreme Court and the nine justices who preside over it. Their job is to interpret these laws and declare any law illegal, if it goes against the American Constitution. Together, these three branches create a system of checks and balances, which helps prevent any one branch from becoming too powerful.
