The Terms and Conditions for Occupation are summarised on the Student Housing Web site and should be read carefully. Upon arrival students will be given a copy of the Student Handbook and specific information about their Halls of Residence, 3_________________________ Students who accept offers of College accommodation will be required to accept a contract for occupancy for the full sessional period. Any student (including those with financial problems) who might wish to break the contract will not be allowed to do so until another eligible student accepts the unexpired part of the contract. All arrangements must be made through the Student Housing Bureau. Please note that no room changes are taking placing during the first two weeks of term 1. Please Note: Once you have ACCEPTED the online contract for a room, you will be liable to pay the residential fees for the duration of your contract. 4_________________________ Students who wish to consult with members of the teaching faculty before committing to stay for the entire session, or who wish to view a room before accepting it, should not complete an online Accommodation Application. These students should make arrangements to live in the private sector, at least temporarily. Students may register on the waiting list for Residence Hall places after arrival at Royal Holloway, if they are remaining for the entire session. This option will require students to take up temporary lodgings in the private sector until a room in Hall comes available, which may be several weeks. 5_________________________ Under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling Legislation) Regulation 2000, if you have not had face to face contact with the College before signing the agreement you have the right to cancel this contract within 7 days of signing the agreement. This must be done in writing (including fax and e-mails) to the Accommodation Office at Royal Holloway. Your right to cancel does not apply once services and accommodation have been provided, Any student (including those with financial problems) who might wish to break the contract after this 7 day period will not be allowed to do so until a replacement student takes on the un-expired part of the contract. 6_________________________ Students who are debtors to the College are not normally eligible to take up a place in a Hall of Residence. Students who have outstanding debts to the College on 1st August 2007 will have their residence hall room allocation revoked. The Student Housing Bureau will write to students informing them that they will not be allowed to take up a place in Halls. 7_________________________ The terms and conditions of occupation of College Residences can be found on the Terms and Conditions link on the Student Housing menu. These regulations apply to all residents and it is strongly recommended that they be read carefully.
