Is the following scenario academic writing according to your understanding? Michelle Williams is an international student studying Chinese language and culture at the Beijing Languages University. She has noticed some interesting and sometimes rather annoying differences in driving behavior between people in Beijing and those in her home country, the United States. Through observations and analysis, she concludes that these differences in driving behavior can be traced to several factors: road and transportation conditions, dependability of cars, customs and habits, and mindsets of drivers. She plans to include an analysis of this phenomenon as part of a book that she is working on: “China through the Candid Eye of An American.”
