Passage 1 Most of us know we want success but we don't know exactly what it is we want. That is why success seems so elusive( 难以捉摸的 ) and so hard to achieve when it really isn't so difficult. Think of success as a journey from A to B. If you define exactly what A and B are and map out your journey down to every comer and lane, every building, every traffic light, every pedestrian crossing ( 人行横道 ) — how easy would it be to get from A to B? So easy you could do it with your eyes closed. What is success to you? Is it getting that promotion, that sports car, or a beautiful house facing the blue sea? Whatever success is to you, you need to clarify it with yourself down to the specifics so that you have clear direction. Then write a detailed, short-and long-term action plan, making sure to take into account the “traffic lights, pedestrian crossings and speed bumps ( 减速路脊 ) .” When you clarify your goals and write out a detailed plan, you develop a better sense for the specific activities you can engage in and you can make better decisions about the allocation ( 分配 ) of your time and resources. Refining your plans every day will give you more clarity and as each day passes, you will find that your goal becomes easier and easier to achieve. Try to think of many different ways to achieve your goal. The more ideas you come up with, the more clarity you will gain on what the best course of action is. (256 words) 1. One thing that makes success so hard to achieve is that ______.
