I came to China to teach; I leave China as a student. I have much to learn about your country, your culture, your style. I take with me more understanding of you as a people, but I do not 1 to say that I "understand". Before I came to China, I was interested in seeing the differences between our two countries. Now I leave with the knowledge of how much we are 2 . I recognize our similarities; I 3 our differences. Because our two political ideology are opposed, I wondered before I came how I would reconcile(调解)these two. Now I realize how 4 there is to reconcile. I leave China with 5 feelings: warmth for its people, curiosity to learn more, desire to help where possible, eagerness to be reunited with my 6 ones. What have I accomplished in my short stay? Maybe I have helped 7 a store or two on the Friendship Bridge which is being built between our two countries.Maybe I have served as an example to those Chinese with whom I have l come in 8 that we Americans are their brothers. We have dreams like you, we work hard like you and we want a future for the next generation which will reflect their highest ideals 9 which we have labored. Therefore, I challenge you. Study hard .B e curious. Be kind. Be devote to ideas. Be willing to soar 10 heights which your forefathers only dreamed about.
