Snake Bridegroom An old lady had her leg broken and was saved by a huge python(蟒蛇). She promised if the snake saved her, she would marry one of the three daughters to the python. No one was willing to take a python as husband. The youngest daughter had to choose to get married with the python for the happiness of her two elder sisters. But at the wedding ceremony (婚礼;结婚典礼), the python turned into a handsome young man. He told everybody that he was King of the pythons. Because he had been informed of the beauty of the three sisters, he wanted to marry one of them. The newly-weds(新婚夫妇) lived happily in the magnificent palace. The eldest daughter was jealous(嫉妒) and regretted not having married herself to the python. She alone went into the forest to look for a python. She did find one and took it as her husband. At the night of their wedding celebration( 婚礼庆典) , she was swallowed by the python husband. She thus ended her life tragically(悲剧地;悲惨地).
