We rarely see Asian performers host major award shows in Hollywood. But Korean-Canadian actress Sandra Oh has made history by doing so. She became the first Asian woman to host the 76 th Golden Globe Awards (奖) this year. But that was not all. She also took home the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress for her role as a secret agent (神秘特工) on the show Killing Eve . With her 2006 Golden Globe trophy for the best supporting actress for her role on Grey's Anatomy , she is now the first Asian actress to win more than one Golden Globe. Born to an immigrant (移民) family, Oh was expected to study hard and get a stable (稳定的) job. But Oh loved to acting and decided to make it her career. But some say that Hollywood is not that friendly to Asian actors. For a long time, Oh only got supporting roles. Oh took every role seriously and tried to portray them realistically. She played the devoted doctor Cristina Yang on Grey's Anatomy for nearly a decade. Cristina Yang was a non-stereotypical (非传统的) Asian character on the show, according to Vanity Fair . When she was offered a lead role on Killing Eve , she was surprised. " After being told to see things a certain way for decades, you realize, 'Oh my God! They brainwashed me!' " she told HuffPost . After that, Oh realized that Asians could shine in Hollywood. She has proven this herself with her impressive acting. The Hollywood Reporter said that Killing Eve " really is unique because of Oh's wide-ranging and witty (诙谐的) performance. "
