Bike tours aren't races. There's no starting gun and no timer at the 1 line. You start when you like and go at your own speed. 2 you get to the day's destination before dark, the finish time doesn't 3 . Riders carry only what they need for the day; the rest is carried by a luggage trailer. Volunteers provide rest stops 4 15 to 20 miles, offering water, drink, snacks and cheers as well. On the Tour de Wyoming, participants 5 in public schools each night. Some riders set up tents on lawns, 6 others put their sleeping bags down in the gym. A few go to local motels for more comfort. Commnity groups fix the evening meals, or riders are 7 to visit local restaurants. The 2001 Tour de Wyoming is long over. Mr Lemerich exceedde his goal by riding 650 miles. Young Katelyn Vincent hoped to ride 200 miles; she 8 it to 240. Her brother, Mason, rode 170 miles, 9 past his goal of 150 miles.
